Ethereum Wallets

Wallets don't literally 'store' ETH—assets live on-chain. Wallets manage private keys/seed phrases to sign transactions and prove control of an address.

Common types: browser extensions (MetaMask), mobile apps, hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor), and smart contract wallets (Safe, Argent).

When choosing a wallet, consider: open-source audits, EIP-1559 and Layer2 support, key exportability, and phishing protections.

Connecting to a dapp triggers signature prompts. Always verify the domain and transaction details—malicious sites may trick you into unlimited approvals or draining assets.

With account abstraction, wallets are becoming 'programmable accounts': social recovery, gas sponsorship, batch actions—lowering barriers for everyday users.
